A Brief History of Perpetual Motion Machines

Perpetual motion machines have a long and colorful history. People from all walks of life have tried and failed to achieve infinite energy, all stopped by a very minor flaw: every part of science ever. The lecture will provide an overview of various machines and why they don’t work. Some focus will be given to scientific uses of perpetual motion and the new zero point energy (ZPE) fad.
